September General Meeting: Homelessness in Tuolumne Co

GENERAL MEETING

Saturday, Sept 11

10 AM

Meeting Safely via Zoom!

Due to the recent surge in local COVID-19 cases, we will continue to meet over Zoom.

ShelleyMuniz.jpg

Our September speaker will be Shelley Muniz. Shelley will be speaking to us about the current state of homelessness in the County, current efforts being pursued, and the too often misunderstood face of the homeless.

Shelley is a long-time advocate for the homeless and a member of the Tuolumne County Homeless Taskforce.

The Taskforce addresses the local element of what has become a growing crisis around California and the nation related to homelessness: causes, those at-risk, encampments, community issues, and more. It is managed under the umbrella of the Tuolumne County Commission on Homelessness (TCCH).

The TCCH is the policy advisory committee to the County of Tuolumne Board of Supervisors for all programs, decisions, and services which may be targeted at or particularly affect homeless populations in Tuolumne County including but not limited to protecting those at-risk of homelessness, providing services for those currently homeless, or recommending establishing policy to address community issues related to homelessness.

Please email Janet Telford prior to the meeting to ensure access is granted when you join over Zoom.

Members and invited guests will receive an email invitation the week of the meeting.

Note: LWVML members can also access the LWVML calendar on the Members only Event page for basic meeting information and all related meeting materials.
